Ethereum Classic (ETC) staking is a process where individuals actively participate in the verification and validation of transactions on the blockchain by holding and locking up a certain amount of Ethereum Classic (ETC) in a compatible wallet. Unlike traditional mining processes, Ethereum Classic (ETC) staking operates on the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism. Participants, or stakers, are selected to create new blocks and validate transactions based on the amount of Ethereum Classic (ETC) they have staked.
